The history of Lafazanis Winery begins somewhere in the first years of the 1950’s from Vassilis Lafazanis.
After 50 years of vinification, time for the Lafazanis family in terms of wines creation, expressing their moment and come from the most selective vineyards.
The high quality, the production size and the quality-price relationship, permits their wines to be competitive in the all markets and affordable to as many consumers as possible. Georgios Lafazanis, chairman and managing director of G. LAFAZANIS S.A., belongs to the second generation of the
Lafazanis family. The scientific training of himself and his colleagues but mainly their passion and their love for what deserves to be named quality wine, established the Lafazanis Winery in the con- science of thousands of wine lovers and generally in the mar- ket of wine.
The Greek varieties are especially appreciated and are vinified with care in absolutely controlled conditions. Agiorgitiko, Moschofilero, Roditis, Moschato, Savvatiano, Asyrtiko but also the cosmopolitan varieties as Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc.
The company apart from its own privately-owned vineyards, collaborates permanently with a great number of wine growers which cultivate more than 2.000 acres and produce grapes with the required qualitative specifications.
Today the G. LAFAZANIS S.A. has an aim and vision apart from its continuous renewed technological infrastructure, it gives particular emphasis in the imrovement of the privetely- owned vineyard.
From 1999 till today, at the International Competition of Thessalonica, the Lafazanis wines have been honoured with five gold, five silver and four bronze awards.
