The «Mazaraki Guesthouse» is located in Pikoulianika, the nearest village to the castle of Mystras. This superb location is at a distance of 230km.away from Athens (approximately 2 ½ hours drive) and 4km. away from contemporary Mystras and 9km. away from Sparta .
The Mazaraki Guesthouse overlooks Byzantine Mystras and the valley of the Evrotas river, in addition to the city of Sparta from the west, whereas in the east, it enjoys wonderful views over the mass of Mount Taygetos and beyond.
It is located at an altitude of 600m., in a wooded area with an abundance of mountain springs and streams.
The buildings were designed by the architect Georgios Giaxoglou, whereas the interior (offering individual themes such as the wheat, the olive, the sky, the branches, the pomegranate and the flowers ) was developed by the scenographer Eleni Manolopoulou.
Mazaraki Guesthouse is running from December 2008, reviving an old and renowned traditional tavern of 1936, our restaurant Chromata has become a whole new experience for the area of Mystras.
Located in Pikoulianika, in a local traditional stone built home, enjoying marvellous veiws of the entire Byzantine estate, Chromata was re-designed by the distinguished theatrical scenographer Eva Nathena.
