Simos

On the south side of the island to the white area is the internationally famous Simos beach.

Beach Sarakiniko creating divided two bays, the Bay of Sarakiniko (a big beach) which extends to the Kournospila and the bay of Frangos (a small beach) reaching to the other side.

The endless beach of Simos has fine golden sand and dunes within reaching almost 10 m. height. The forest with the sea trees covers a wide area and connects with the two beaches.

The beach got its name from Kalymnos sponge-diver, Simos, who drowned in the area near the beach.
