Give Olympia room in the itinerary
A site visit and museum visit deserve most of a day, adjusted to the heat and your interest. Staying nearby removes the pressure of doing the sanctuary between two long drives. A second night makes space for Foloi or a slower local day. Katakolo is a port stop on the coast; a cruise timetable and a touring itinerary require different margins.
Choose a mountain or coastal extension
Bassae is reached by mountain roads and works well with a night in Andritsaina. The protective shelter around the temple affects the visitor experience and photography, so check its current presentation. Chlemoutsi and Kyllini offer a more coastal continuation toward Patras. These two extensions pull in different directions; choose one when time is short.
Travel through the landscape carefully
Foloi is an oak-forest destination where the walk and access should fit the season. Kaiafas combines a lake, thermal landscape and coast, but current bathing operation must be checked independently. The Neda gorge belongs to a border landscape shared with Messinia. Follow the specific access advice for the place you intend to visit, rather than assuming every point on a map is a maintained entrance.
