What makes it stand out
Begin with the view of the whole cluster, then use only publicly accessible lanes. The towers are buildings with individual histories and conditions, not a freely explorable set of ruins. A careful visit can be brief yet worthwhile, especially when the rest of the day is left for the southern coast.
Planning your visit
Stay around Gerolimenas or another suitable southern base if you want to combine Vathia with Cape Tainaron. Avoid entering unstable or private structures and never park on a blind bend for a photograph. Heat and wind can make an exposed walk tiring. The lighthouse route farther south requires its own allowance for both directions on foot.
