Four days around southern Argolis and Methana
Travel from the southern Argolid’s inland streets and harbour towns to the volcanic peninsula of Methana. This is a mainland journey with two coastal bases; it needs no island excursion to feel complete.

Where you’ll spend the night
Ermioni nights 1–2; Methana night 3; two bases, one hotel change
Ermioni arrival
Travel from Corinth or Nafplio to Ermioni. Walk the waterfront and Bisti peninsula where access allows. Keep the afternoon local after the arrival drive.

Didyma and Porto Heli
Visit the Didyma sinkholes if current access permits, then choose a short Kranidi stop or continue to Porto Heli for the bay. Return to Ermioni, leaving time for an evening meal.
Troezen and Methana
Drive north towards Troezen and Methana. Treat Troezen as an optional archaeological stop after checking access, then settle in Methana. Explore the town rather than adding a volcanic hike to the transfer day.
Volcanic landscape and departure
Choose a currently suitable walking route with local information, or a gentler road-and-village circuit. Begin the return towards Corinth with daylight remaining. A longer hike works better with another Methana night.
Before you go
Check sinkhole and archaeological access. Book a qualified local walking guide if the volcanic terrain is beyond your experience.
Use paved roads as the default for both cars and motorcycles. Methana’s walking trails are not riding routes; assess the final approach to each planned stop.
Adjust the pace
With more time: Add a Methana night and keep Troezen and the volcanic walk on different days.
With less time: Stay three days in Ermioni and omit Methana.
Allow extra travel time. Day 4 if returning to Athens; Day 3 is the principal local transfer.
