Begin in Corinthia and Argolis
Ancient Corinth and Nemea make useful starting points. In Argolis, Mycenae and Tiryns introduce the Bronze Age, while Epidaurus brings the sanctuary and its theatre into focus. Midea and Dendra deepen a Mycenaean itinerary; Argos adds a broader urban setting.
Continue inland and west
Mantineia and Tegea fit a plateau stay around Tripoli. Ancient Messene deserves a full cultural day from Kalamata. The Palace of Nestor belongs with the Pylos area, while Olympia and Bassae anchor a western journey. These are choices for different days, not a single comprehensive circuit.
Use museums to complete the visit
Objects, plans and interpretation make ruined structures easier to understand. Check museum and site opening separately and avoid leaving the museum until the final minutes before closing. In hot weather, adjust the day around exposure rather than trying to maintain the same pace outdoors throughout.
