Menalon Trail

The Menalon Trail is a 75-kilometre walking route organised into eight sections between nine Arcadian villages. It is a way to travel through the landscape on foot, with different planning needs from a village drive.

What makes it stand out

The network links places including Stemnitsa, Dimitsana, Vytina, Nymfasia and Lagkadia through a changing landscape of valleys, woodland and settlements. A single section can be the outdoor focus of a road trip, while walking the whole route requires a dedicated multi-day programme. Choose by distance, ascent, terrain and transport, not simply the appeal of the end village.

Planning your visit

Use the official section descriptions and latest local advice. Arrange how to reach the start and return from the finish before setting out. Carry the navigation, water and equipment appropriate to that section and the weather. A “family” label on general tourism material does not establish suitability for a particular child. Leave a buffer for delays and avoid finishing a demanding walk before a long night drive.
