What makes it stand out
Explore Areopoli on foot and notice the masonry and changing street widths rather than seeking a single viewpoint. Its position makes it a useful base for Diros and the road farther south. A separate visit to Limeni provides the bay-side contrast without making Areopoli itself a beach destination.
Planning your visit
Two nights allow a town walk, the cave if operating and a selected coastal excursion. Check parking and the final pedestrian approach to accommodation. Visit in the cooler hours during summer and allow for quieter business operation outside the main season. For Vathia and Tainaron, another overnight farther south reduces the amount of return driving.
