Seven or ten days in the Peloponnese

With seven days, choose a regional circuit. With ten, connect more than one part of the peninsula while retaining full days at important bases.

Use a week for a clear theme

Western Messinia supports a week of castles, coast and local excursions. A food and wine route can connect Nemea, Tripoli and Kalamata with arranged visits. A week also leaves room to extend the six-day Laconia itinerary rather than adding another distant region.

Use ten days to connect substantial visits

The UNESCO route uses ten days because the sites, museums and mountain approaches deserve time. A southern journey can also benefit from an extra night in a favoured base or an arrival buffer. More days should first improve the pace before increasing the number of stops.

Count the real touring days

Flight and ferry times can reduce the useful first and final days. Count nights as well as calendar dates and add vehicle collection and return time. A seven-day holiday with two travel days is not the same itinerary as seven full road-trip days.
