Feneos and Lake Doxa

Lake Doxa is an artificial lake in the mountain landscape of Feneos. The water, wooded slopes and cultivated basin form a varied local excursion, especially when you leave time for Goura and the surrounding villages.

What makes it stand out

Walk part of the shoreline where access permits and pause at the small chapel setting rather than treating the lake as a single photograph. Goura adds village streets and a meal above the wider basin. The nearby Agios Georgios monastery can complement the day, but it has its own visiting arrangements. Stymphalia is a separate landscape and works better on another day of a two- or three-night highland stay.

Planning your visit

Use Trikala Corinthias or accommodation in the Feneos area as a base. Lake levels and weather affect the appearance and conditions at the shore; do not expect every season to resemble a summer photograph. Keep vehicles on public roads and legal parking areas. No lake swimming, kayaking or other organised activity should be assumed without current local confirmation.
