What makes it stand out
Approach on the permitted paths and keep the dune vegetation intact. The shape of the shore is the main attraction, so there is no need to add a difficult high viewpoint to justify the outing. The nearby lagoon offers a different reason to visit the area, with bird observation from appropriate places rather than movement through sensitive habitat.
Planning your visit
Use Pylos or Gialova as a base and allow a half-day with flexibility for heat, wind and sea conditions. Park legally and bring what you need without assuming permanent facilities. Paleokastro and Nestor’s Cave are separate access questions; this itinerary does not include entry or a hike to them. Carry out waste and choose a shorter visit when the conditions make the exposed shore uncomfortable.
